Why We Need Family…..
The Family Circle, and the Role It Plays in Your Life’s Fulfillment
They come into our room, borrow our clothes, listen in on our phone calls and eat the last of our leftovers. They mess up our clean houses, use up the gas in our cars, nag us until we can’t see straight-and they’re always there when we need them. There’s nothing like family, and even when they’re driving you crazy there’s a certain amount of fulfillment they bring to our lives that we can’t find anyplace else.
I grew up as a member of an average size family, and it still seemed like there wasn’t five minutes in a day I could call my own sometimes. Because of that I never really appreciated the importance of family until I became an adult and had children of my own. Suddenly family took on a whole new meaning.
It’s incredible how our perception of our family changes as we grow older, yet the role that they play remains the same. Having a family guarantees that you have a built in support system, and although that support system may not always be what you want it to be when it comes down to the wire your family will love you and stand behind you…no matter what.
When was the last time you took the time to really appreciate your family? With Mother’s Day quickly coming up around the corner (and Father’s Day right behind it) this is the perfect time to start thinking about your family-both the family that helped you become who you are and the family that you are going to make in the future. Despite the aggravation that they bring, the demands they make and the way they seem to completely take over your life there’s nothing like your family.
The value of family, and the shining example of the fulfillment it brings to your life, can be found in the quiet moments that you spend together. It’s in a movie shared in front of a fireplace with a bowl of popcorn, a rag-tag touch football game when it’s twenty degrees outside, a car trip filled with fights and laughter on the way to visit a relative whose name nobody remembers but whose chocolate chip cookies will live on in infamy. Family is tears and laughter, joy and sadness and a never ending roller coaster ride of incredible experiences that just wouldn’t be the same if we had them ourselves.
Our family completes us, and for that we should be forever grateful.

My Youngest Child of the three children (only Daughter) just left home to attend college. I feel so imcomplete with her gone.
